Hello crafters!
I want to share with you 5 easy tips to use to make your DIY pop-up shop !
I fell in-love with my pop-up shop not only because it stands out but because it was super easy, and it was personalized .
I want to be an inspiration to all of you who share the same love I do for crochet. I admire all my pieces because I know the work and time it takes to make each one.
For months I kept wondering how am I going to make my handmade pieces stand out from all these other vendors?
I thought I had to spend a lot of money to get something custom-made to bring my shop to life. But actually I was over thinking it. I already had everything beautifully displayed in my home!
I literally took EVERYTHING I currently used to display my pieces and set up my in living room as my actual shop. I wanted to see the layout and see what was missing, also had to keep in mind how much space I was using.
I'm a DIY kind of person & LOVE to get creative on my stuff, so of course I wanted to put together my own little shop, so here is what I did.
I hope this inspires you!

This was the original set up at my house to visualize my first pop-up shop.
My main goal was to stand out by being different then other vendors. Instead of getting the same table as everyone else and just laying down my pieces I wanted my items to be seen from just walking by. My solution: 6ft vertical board.

1. DIY Display Board: At my local Home Depot I bought;
Pegboard
2 Planks of wood
Wood Board
Screws
Hinges
Pegboard hooks
Laid the pegboard on the two planks, drilled holes on the top corners, middles and bottom corners of the peg board. Used hinges on the wooden board for the backside, to be able to stand the board up without falling over. Used pegboard hooks to be able to use hangers for my featured items.
(Quick 30 minutes to put together!)

2. DIY LIT SIGN
At my local family dollar I bought:
8x10 Foam Board
2 mini boxes of christmas tree light
Poster Letters
I started with the christmas lights and easily poked the lights through the foam board in a straight line along the border. After used the poster letters and a glue stick to paste onto the board.
3. Racks & Shelves
One 5 Tier Shelf tower
Craft Cart
Shoe Rack
Clothing Rack
I didn't want to fill up every single shelf with just product, I wanted to also be able to display small items as a decoration.
4. Mannequins
1 Full Size mannequin
4 hook hanging mannequins
Have you ever been shopping at the mall, saw a BEAUTIFUL outfit on the mannequin & walked right in to the store to look for that particular piece?
Well I don't know about you but mannequins always catch my attention because I can really picture what that particular piece would look like on myself.
So I believe mannequins are essential to sell bikini's or anything fashion-related.
Best place to find some are on amazon.com !
5. Brand Details & Decor
Business Cards
Flyers
Photo Album
Lamp/ Light Bulbs
Faux Fur Rug
Flowers
Trust me every detail makes a difference! My small folding table came in handy to have things for my potential customers to take and look at. Don't forget to take with you your business cards & flyers! You want people to remember who you are and what can you do for them. Photo album works as a portfolio, it also shows what else you have to offer that is not in-stock. Suggest a custom order!
My lamp and light bulbs saved the night because I had no clue what the lighting situation was for my location. You can't assume anything! My light served its purpose as decor and to be able to see what I was showcasing.
My small decoration of flowers and the faux fur rug was to keep the original theme I had in my home.
I've been working on a dream for a long time, I feel so blessed to be able to show the world what you can do with dedication to something that you have a passion for. Special thanks to The Fara Charles Project for the opportunity to have my first pop-up shop in our local community.
